Yup, I’m a Twilight Freak!

Can’t wait to see New Moon, even gong to the Advance Screening at 12.01am isn’t soon enough for me.

I do think this is a movie that will get better with the different directors – already I prefer the golden colouring of NM to the cold blue tones of Twilight, it makes me want to watch it whereas Twilight didn’t have the same appeal. I’m Team Edward, only because I’ve always liked all things Vampire, Jacob/Taylor is a hottie, but in reality I do prefer Rob – he’s not gorgeous like TL, he is good looking in his own way & he’s talented, not only is he a great actor, he’s also a great musician & his whole personality appeals to me, I really feel sorry for him because all people seem to see is Edward & not Rob

Get over Edward ladies, as much as it would be cool for a vamp like him to be real; there is a real person underneath the character!!

I had completely forgotten about my blog – I don’t get in much crafty stuff these days, mainly my time is spent with the kids since employment is not forthcoming (made redundant at Christmas :(   ).

So in the last year I’ve lost my job, moved house & learned to cut right back – in cutting back we’re also growing our own vegies. Our new house has a big backyard, with several fruit trees – we were in luck & managed to salvage a few mandarins & crabapples when we first moved in, then moved onto oranges but 3 of the 4 trees are pretty sour! (Oh, and the birds ate all the persimmons lol)

Right now as we’re coming to the end of spring & going to into summer, we have two plum trees loaded with fruit, a feijoa tree in flower, tonnes of Rhubarb that we don’t eat  and lots of vegies in the garden for a healthy summer hehehe. We have everything in the garden – celery, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spring onions, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions, capsicums, corn, watermelon & pumpkin!

We spent yesterday afternoon topping up the garden with seedlings as we got into the weeds on saturday which really opened the garden up (a whole garden bag filled with weeds & still some more to go WHOOPS!) I still need to buy some rockmelon & honeydew melon seedling though as ours died, poos!

I’ve also managed to stop using the drier quite so much over winter since we have a garage here  – I strung up some more lines in the garage &  that looks like a Chinese laundromat when it rains, but it certainly saves us some money, no $500 power bills for the month this year!

Ashton turned 2 in July, he’s a funny clever little guy, some of the things he says & does are hilarious, but he also has a nasty little temper on him so you know when he’s not happy.

Paije turned 5 at the end of September & had a little break since it was the school holidays & started New Entrants on Oct 12th & she is doing really well, she just loves bringing home her books & reading them with us, she seems to be doing really well & she read to Aunty D recently who thinks her reading is advanced from a teachers perspective   8-)

A couple of weekends ago we went for a long drive & had a play in the snow, so time for a photo-heavy post - it was a great opportunity to get some fabbo pics

Day one was fab, it was warm & sunny though very little parking, I jumped out of the car with a Tee on, thought I better chuck my Fleece top on because the plan was snowball throwing – at mummy!  Paije loved it, Ashton hated it of course.

Paije the snow angel loved it

Ashton wasn’t so keen on it

The 2nd day was very windy & a little wet, we went around to Turoa for a nosey & it was so windy, we were scared to get out of the car, the kids would more than likely have been blown away

Paije & her Sn-Man. My fingers got so cold in the snow (my gloves just sucked up the snow that melted in my hands grrr) & Ashton got so upset over the snow, he had to be made on the Squat side or it would have taken aaages & we would have had WWIII starting with a stroppy boy.

Someone needed hugs, hehe

I love this shot, it  almost sinister I look at it & think a vulture should be sitting up there

Time to load the lovely parcel I received in the TNN Yarn Swap methinks :)

This was what my parcel contained, a lovely Sugar & Spice themed yarn & Stitch Markers – I love it all & am currently starting on the Pattern supplied ~Monica~ from knitty.com

I will post pics as I progress as there’s not much on the needles right now :D
